Description
The Meadow House is a spacious and beautiful New England farmhouse sitting in the middle of 200 acres of Vermont meadows and woods.
Photo of river by The Meadow House Vacation Rental, Gaysville, Vermont
Overlooking the grand White River, its location is terrific for fishing or swimming. This secluded family dwelling rests just at the end of the road; it is the ultimate in total privacy and relaxation.
The house itself is a classic New England design. Visitors may choose to sit on the open front porch and survey the meadow up towards the mountains. Colder weather may call for snuggling in the warmth of a tender glow by the fireplace. The 400-square-foot eat-in kitchen provides cooking utensils and a dishwasher. There are also four double-bedded bedrooms inside, sleeping six to eight in total comfort. Two full baths create convenience for an entire family, while the sauna and steam bath give way to total indulgence. This rental is not only comfortable, but efficient as well, providing a handy washer and dryer on site.
Meals can be enjoyed in the spacious eat-in kitchen or outside on the redwood picnic table in the heart of the meadow. Either way, you may enjoy a welcomed breakfast lunch or dinner without leaving your secret chateau. However, if a family wishes to go out for an evening, central Vermont boasts one of the top twenty-five restaurants in America, Hemmingway's.
Whether you are canoeing in the White River or relaxing on the porch, there never has to be room for an idle moment at The Meadow House. You can play tennis or golf, enjoy the open meadows with a horseback ride or hit the bike trails for some enjoyable exercise. The riverfront provides several activities such as swimming, fishing, canoeing, or simply floating down the river itself. There is a ping pong table in the Meadow House for those who are looking for an friendly match. If you are feeling really adventurous, Killington Ski area is 15 miles away. Cross-country skiing is great right out the door. |
