Description
Capitola Ocean Breezes, a newly remodeled townhouse near Santa Cruz, California, is located in the Village of Capitola just one block from the beach and Esplanade.
Lodging accommodations at this charming two-story vacation getaway rental sleep up to four guests with two bedrooms, two baths, a modern kitchen with outdoor and indoor dining areas, and a nicely appointed living room with a stereo, cable television, and VCR. Both bedrooms also come with cable TV/VCR combos, and one of the bedrooms is furnished with a queen-sized bed and computer desk while the other is equipped with twin beds and has direct access to an upstairs patio with gas grill.

The second story has a deck off the kitchen. The home has a digital safe that you can store valuables in while you're off frolicking on the beach. There's a carport out front that can be used for covered parking.
There are seven gorgeous Monterey Bay beaches to choose from, including nearby Santa Cruz's Pleasure Point Beach, a mecca for surfers. You can't go wrong, though, if you make Capitola Beach your permanent playground. In fact, Sunset Magazine and Via Magazine have both voted Capitola Beach as one of California's best. The beach stretches from cliff to cliff, and the periphery of its pristine sands is lined with great restaurants, eclectic shops, impressive galleries, and lively entertainment.
Long board surfers take advantage of a challenging surf break near the southern end of Capitola Beach, but the sport of choice here is volleyball. In fact, volleyball nets are left standing year-round, so all you need to bring is your game. Swimming also is popular because Capitola Beach's position on the bay protects it from high winds. And Capitola's historic wharf is a good place to cast for a fish or take a stroll with your honey.

If you're into hiking, horseback riding, or just plain walking, your options include the nearby Castle Rock State Park, Natural Bridges State Park, Big Basins Redwoods State Park, and the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park in Aptos. If some of your days do take you away from Capitola Beach, there's still plenty here to bring you back during the evening. Night-time hot spots include the live music venues of Zelda's, Margaritaville, and the Paradise Beach Grill.
Other points of interest include the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (a very popular seaside family amusement park), and the Roaring Camp & Santa Cruz Big Trees Railroads in Felton (home of America's last steam-powered passenger train). |
